Dr. Douglas Devries, D.C.

Dr. Douglas DeVries is a former Marine that was active in service from 1978 to 1981. During his time in the service he was stationed at 29 Palms, CA where he attended school to become a Field Radio Operator. He was then re-stationed to Marine Base Quantico in Virginia where he was an Enlisted Instructor at the Communication Officer School. Also; during his time as a Marine, he was deployed overseas to Okinawa, Japan where he was NCOIC (Noncommissioned Officer in Charge) of Communications for Fox Battery 2/12.

After being honorably discharged from the Marine Corps, he moved back home to Minnesota, where he was preparing to attend Physical Therapy school. However; as they often do, an important life event changed his mind. In 1982 while riding his motorcycle; a car forced him into a curb, causing him to hyperextend his knee. He knew he didn’t want surgery or medication, so he sought out care with Dr. Sullwold, a Chiropractor.

During the duration of his treatment he realized he had made an excellent decision choosing to see a chiropractor for his injuries. This decision changed the course of his life; because at that moment, he knew he would become a Chiropractor and help others as he had been helped! He immediately changed his career field to Chiropractic, and attended Northwestern College of Chiropractic in Bloomington, Minnesota from 1983-1989.

After graduating he moved to Lake Havasu, Arizona and started his internship at Heuser Chiropractic. After passing the Arizona Chiropractic Boards, he moved to Yuma, Arizona; where he started working as the full-time, treating Doctor for Heuser Chiropractic. At this time he also became certified as a Chiropractic Sports Physician.

Since that time, he has taken hundreds of hours of continuing education in chiropractic, rehabilitation, and functional care. Dr. DeVries has many different methods of adjustments and he treats patients of all ages, from newborn to geriatric. With his exceptional chiropractic skills and the office’s state of the art equipment; he ensures that his patient’s nervous systems are functioning properly, he can relieve patient’s pain quickly, and address structural damage/problems, this enables him to really be able to help all his patients. His goal is that all parts of the body are in balance and each patient can reach their own overall health goals.
